The Group of Biological Control (GBC) of insect pests is a group in the University of Azores devoted to the study of biological control agents and its applicationin the field. The group focus in the dynamic of insect pests in Azores, survey for new biological control agents, studies in the impact of abiotic factors, trophic interactions, host - pathogen interactions, field applications and control of insect pests. Popillia japonica and biological control is one of the target pest in our research.
